Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer – Logistics Operations

We are seeking a disciplined HSE Officer for our client to ensure full health, safety, and environmental compliance across logistics, transport, and field operations. This role is critical in building a strong safety culture and ensuring all operations are executed safely and in compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities
– Implement and enforce HSE policies across logistics and transport operations
– Conduct site inspections, fleet safety checks, and risk assessments
– Monitor driver and vehicle safety compliance
– Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and produce detailed reports
– Conduct safety inductions and toolbox talks for drivers and site teams
– Ensure compliance with Tanzanian occupational safety and transport regulations
– Maintain HSE records, audit reports, and safety documentation
– Drive continuous improvement in operational safety standards

Requirements
– Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Logistics, or related field
Recognized qualifications can include:
– NTA Level 6 or above in Occupational Health & Safety (VETA / NACTE accredited)
– NEBOSH International General Certificate (strong advantage)
– Diploma in Safety Management, Environmental Health, or related technical field
– 3+ years experience in HSE roles within logistics, transport, construction, or industrial operations
– Strong knowledge of Tanzanian safety regulations and compliance requirements
– Experience in inspections, audits, and incident investigations
– Strong communication and training skills
