Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, trustworthy, and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of our organization. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Tasks
Record and reconcile daily transactions, sales, receipts, and expenses
Maintain and update the general ledger
Process and verify vendor invoices and staff reimbursements

Weekly Tasks
Prepare and process payments to suppliers and service providers
Assist in payroll preparation and reconciliation
Support financial reporting with relevant data and summaries

Monthly & Quarterly Tasks
Reconcile bank and credit card statements
Prepare and submit tax filings (e.g., VAT, PAYE, withholding tax)
Generate financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly budgets and forecasts

General Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
Maintain organized and secure financial records
Support internal and external audits
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and transparency

Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of proven work experience as an accountant or similar role
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Tally, or Sage)
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Excellent analytical and numerical skills
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Knowledge of TRA compliance and tax reporting (for Tanzania-based roles)

Preferred:
CPA or ACCA certification (or working towards it)
Experience in an Engineering firm is a PLUS.
