Junior Agronomist – Mango Farming

Location: Magu, Tanzania
Reports To: Farm Manager / Senior Agronomist

Job Summary:
A fresh graduate or entry-level agronomist responsible for assisting in the management of mango orchards. The role focuses on learning and supporting best practices for healthy trees, flowering, fruit set, and pest management to improve yield and fruit quality.

Key Responsibilities:
– Assist in monitoring mango tree growth and health.
– Support pruning, flowering, and fruit set management.
– Help monitor and manage pests and diseases under guidance.
– Support fertilization and irrigation activities.
– Record field observations and assist in preparing simple reports.
– Learn and implement sustainable orchard management practices.
– Provide assistance to farm staff in daily orchard operations.

Qualifications & Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field.
– Basic knowledge of mango cultivation is an advantage.
– Eagerness to learn and follow instructions from senior agronomists.
– Good communication, teamwork, and reporting skills.

– Mango orchard management: pruning, flowering, fruit set, irrigation, and pest control.
– Sustainable orchard practices for optimal fruit yield and quality.
