We are currently seeking a Maritime Industry Expert to support projects across African Union Member States. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, regional experience, and a commitment to sustainable and innovative maritime practices.
Key Responsibilities
– Contribute to the planning and execution of maritime-related development projects.
– Provide technical input on maritime operations, port logistics, and regulatory compliance.
– Support initiatives that promote sustainable and green maritime technologies.
– Collaborate with stakeholders across the private and development sectors.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education:
– University degree in Engineering, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
Language Proficiency:
– C1-level fluency in English (spoken and written).
– Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
Professional Background:
– Minimum of 3 years in private sector development.
– At least 5 years in the maritime sector (shipbuilding, shipping operations, or port logistics).
– In-depth understanding of international maritime regulations, safety standards, and compliance frameworks.
– Minimum of 3 years working on projects within African Union Member States.
– At least 1 year of experience in development cooperation projects.
– Minimum of 2 years implementing sustainable maritime technologies, with a focus on decarbonization strategies.
