Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join us. This role is pivotal in managing accurate and timely salary disbursements. You will be the go-to expert for payroll processes, ensuring compliance with ever-evolving tax laws and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll for all employees, including salaries, overtime, deductions, and bonuses.
  • Review and verify timekeeping and attendance records using advanced time management systems.
  • Prepare and analyze annual payroll reports to assess system reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) requirements by handling timely tax submissions, PAYE, and statutory contributions (e.g., NSSF, WCF, NHIF).
  • Maintain accurate payroll documentation including direct deposit records and payroll system data.
  • Conduct training sessions on effective use of time and attendance tracking systems.
  • Oversee the full payroll process—from data entry and calculations to policy review—to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance payroll operations.
  • Provide end-to-end support for employees on all payroll-related matters.
  • Act as a payroll advisor and resource for other departments across the organization.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve payroll planning, compliance, and internal controls.

    Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll or a similar role.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with HRMS systems is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of local payroll laws and tax regulations.
  • Analytical problem-solver with the ability to make quick, sound decisions.
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Committed to confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Highly detail-oriented, especially when dealing with large datasets.
  • Willingness to work additional hours during peak periods (e.g., month-end, year-end).
  • Experience working with multinational companies and managing complex payroll structures is highly desirable.
