We are seeking a highly motivated Project Coordinator to support road construction projects across Mwanza and surrounding regions. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects run efficiently, safely, and within budget. The Project Coordinator will serve as the bridge between project managers, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and timely execution of project milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assist project managers in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for road construction projects
– Track progress of multiple project activities and provide regular status updates
– Coordinate site logistics, equipment, and materials to ensure timely availability
– Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, progress reports, and inspection records
– Monitor compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards on-site
– Prepare detailed weekly and monthly project reports for management and stakeholders
– Organize and document site meetings, inspections, and stakeholder engagements
– Identify project risks and propose mitigation strategies in collaboration with project managers
– Facilitate communication between contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
– Support budgeting, cost tracking, and procurement processes
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
– Minimum 3 years of experience coordinating road construction or civil engineering projects
– Strong knowledge of road construction methods, materials, equipment, and safety standards
– Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
– Excellent organizational, reporting, and communication skills
– Proficiency in MS Office, project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6), and scheduling tools
– Ability to work on-site and travel frequently to project locations
Preferred Skills:
– Knowledge of Tanzanian road construction regulations, permitting processes, and government requirements
– Experience liaising with government authorities, local councils, and regulatory bodies
– Understanding of budget tracking, cost control, and procurement procedures
– Ability to support large-scale infrastructure projects and multi-disciplinary teams
