Job Description<\/strong>
She\/He will be responsible for the day to day operations in Tanzania, ensuring customer satisfaction through continued quality improvement in service delivery. The candidate is entailed to maintain open communication regarding all technical matters as well as maintain a positive working relationship with the Country Manager, Regional Operation and Technical Managers, Regional General Manager, Executive Management team and the various stakeholders. The role will support the business by coordinating operations and reporting efficiently, improve quality of service from a technical point of view and develop the team. Likewise, the role will promote profitable business development within the company.

Responsibilities<\/strong>
Technical: <\/strong>
\u25cf Attend regularly sites at mines, warehouses, smelters and refineries in their coverage areas where inspections, sampling and sample preparation operations take place
\u25cf Continuously conduct site internal audits and operation inspections to evaluate the teams\u2019 performances.
\u25cf Coordinate client complaints and implement corrective actions where needed.
\u25cf Coordinate new site setups according to clients\u2019 instructions.
\u25cf Ensures client instructions are carried out in full as per appointments, efficiently and accurately communicate information in relation to events.
\u25cf Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and TSOPs for work on site.
\u25cf Reviews and approves inspection reports according to group standards prior to release to clients.
\u25cf Ensures health and safety protocols are adhered to and that the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and used by the team he is working with.
\u25cf Maintains a correct environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
\u25cf Coordinates with his technical staff in regards to the site procedures to ensure the company and client\u2019s interests are protected.
\u25cf Assist the Ops Manager with the daily operational feedback.
Operations Team Management:
\u25cf Recruits and trains local staff, manages leave and attendance of his team.
\u25cf Draft plans for Audits and team evaluations following protocol.
\u25cf Formulate strategic and technical objectives for teams.
\u25cf Control his team of supervisors and inspectors ensuring that activities are performed as per company documented procedures for the commodities in question.

Operations Performance Systems Management: <\/strong>
\u25cf Improve operational management systems and processes for best practices.
\u25cf Support on FIOR, GIOS, L&D and Group implementation projects.
\u25cf Promote the use of company digital tools.

Client-relations Management: <\/strong>
\u25cf Coordinate, attend meetings and arrange frequent visits to sites.
\u25cf Ensure effective customer support to all client enquiries related to technical.
\u25cf Review and respond to all enquiries regarding the Tanzania
Technical activities together with all the other managers.

Required Knowledge & Skills<\/strong>
\u2022 Good knowledge and understanding of inspection services
\u2022 Good knowledge of ISO standard (9001, 17020, 17025, etc.)
\u2022 Skills in examining and re-engineering practices and procedures, formulating policy, developing and implementing new strategies.
\u2022 Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated creative solutions.
\u2022 Emotionally intelligent, persuasive and articulate, enabling cooperation and collaboration at all levels.
\u2022 Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
\u2022 Advanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills.
\u2022 Working knowledge and understanding of the principles and processes of computerized business and operating systems.
\u2022 Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
\u2022 Knowledge and understanding of integrated program planning, development, and
administration within a public institution environment.
\u2022 Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
\u2022 Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
\u2022 Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to personnel.
\u2022 Ability to develop and present educational programs and\/or workshops.

Work Experience<\/strong>
\u2022 Minimum 3years of relevant work experience directly related to the duties and
responsibilities specified.
\u2022 Proven success leading and contributing as a technical project\/program manager in diverse projects ranging in scale from local to global impact.
\u2022 Must have previously supervised or managed direct reports.
\u2022 Exposure to and preferably operations experience in Tanzania and \/ or Africa.
\u2022 Experience and demonstrated success in working in a cross-border, international, matrix structure organization is an advantage.
\u2022 Experience of living\/working in an emerging market would be an advantage.
\u2022 Able to demonstrate relevant experience with Metals & Mining.
\u2022 Experience within the TIC industry preferred.

Qualifications<\/strong>
\u2022 Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Engineering (chemical, metallurgy, geology, mining, etc.), Business or Management studies. This requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Travel \/ Rotation Requirements<\/strong>
\u2022 Travel will be required both domestically and internationally.
\u2022 Must have the ability for spontaneous travel.
\u2022 Must have a valid passport and ability to obtain visas as necessary.
\u2022 Must have a valid driving license.
