They will oversee all operations, both on site and in the office, manage staff, coordinate production and monitor all site systems.<br><br><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><br>\u2022 Examining the materials produced to ensure that a high quality of product is maintained;<br>\u2022 Closely monitoring all areas of the quarry to ensure that extraction and processing work is carried out to the highest standard;<br>\u2022 Assessing equipment and production materials levels; undertaking regular site inspections and risk assessments in order to comply with all health and safety regulations;<br>\u2022 Checking that all vehicles on site are maintained to a good standard.<br>\u2022 Ordering new items as required;<br>\u2022 Liaising with staff on site and dealing with any technical or staffing challenges that arise;<br>\u2022 Balancing sales and output;<br>\u2022 Ensuring that key government health and safety legislation is implemented throughout the site;<br>\u2022 Altering the quarry\u2019s production system in accordance with the materials required;<br>\u2022 Liaising with sales and commercial teams;<br>\u2022 Maintaining up-to-date records and dealing with a range of paperwork;<br>\u2022 Keeping up to date with relevant government legislation and industry developments;<br>\u2022 Developing inspection systems and checklists;<br>\u2022 Checking that the quarry\u2019s production levels are maintained safely to schedule;<br>\u2022 Writing development proposals and reports;<br>\u2022 Managing and recruiting staff.<br>\u2022 Performance managing the production process and setting and monitoring targets;<br>\u2022 Providing the owner company with information and statistics on the quarry\u2019s performance;<br>\u2022 Developing links with local groups and organizations<br>\u2022 Managing and regulating the quarry\u2019s budget;<br><br><strong>Requirements \/ Skills \/ Qualifications<\/strong><br>\u2022 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in chemistry\/industrial chemistry, earth sciences, environmental sciences\/engineering, geology\/mining geology, geophysics, materials science<br>\u2022 A strong level of technical understanding of quarrying environments and extraction systems<br>\u2022 Excellent communication and influencing skills<br>\u2022 Ability to think strategically and to problem solve<br>\u2022 Capacity to make quick decisions and to think on your feet<br>\u2022 Commercial awareness<br>\u2022 Good IT skills<br>\u2022 Knowledge of health and safety issues and how they relate to practical working environments<br>\u2022 Flexible approach to work<br>\u2022 Strong customer service skills<br>\u2022 Good business and management skills<br>\u2022 Project-management skills<br>\u2022 Leadership qualities and team building skills<br>\u2022 Ability to tolerate noisy, dirty and uncomfortable working environments &#8211; some of the time.<br>\u2022 Minimum of 3-years work experience<br>\u2022 Candidate <strong>MUST<\/strong> be based in Lake Zone.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Quarry ManagerThey will be responsible for ensuring that quarries, pits and opencast sites operate successfully.
