{"id":224,"date":"2023-02-21T07:56:50","date_gmt":"2023-02-21T07:56:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/connectspace.co.tz\/res\/?p=224"},"modified":"2023-03-06T07:51:53","modified_gmt":"2023-03-06T07:51:53","slug":"civil-engineer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/connectspace.co.tz\/res\/civil-engineer\/","title":{"rendered":"Civil Engineer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The applicant will design, plan, and supervise the construction of infrastructure projects such as buildings, bridges, roads, dams, pipelines, water, and sewage systems.<br><br><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities:<br><\/strong>\u2022 Where applicable, directs and oversees junior or subordinate staff members regarding construction, operations, and\/or maintenance tasks and assignments at a project site.<br><br><strong>Duties\/Responsibilities:<\/strong><br>\u2022 Consults with and provides guidance to project stakeholders and managerial staff regarding engineering requirements for construction of various designs, modifications, and structural repairs.<br>\u2022 Uses design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs; plans and designs other necessary and related systems and structures such as transportation or hydraulics.<br>\u2022 Assesses strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel by testing materials and soil.<br>\u2022 Sets design specifications by computing load and grade requirements, material stress factors, water flow rates, and similar parameters.<br>\u2022 Plans projects based on the analysis of relevant materials such as drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.<br>\u2022 Drafts and presents reports on topics related to projects such as environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions.<br>\u2022 Estimates materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs.<br>\u2022 Collaborates with architects and contractors to ensure projects progress properly.<br>\u2022 Collaborates with surveyors (or directs and participates in surveying) to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors that will affect construction.<br>\u2022 Monitors project progress and ensure design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.<br>\u2022 On completion of a project, inspects, repairs, and maintains the structures as needed.<br>\u2022 Performs other related duties as assigned.<br><br><strong>Required Skills\/Abilities:<\/strong><br>\u2022 Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.<br>\u2022 Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analyzation software.<br>\u2022 Thorough understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, bridges, roads, and other related structures.<br>\u2022 Thorough understanding of safety regulations related to assigned projects.<br>\u2022 Ability to identify and solve complex problems.<br>\u2022 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<br>\u2022 Ability to be both creative and analytical.<br>\u2022 Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.<br><br><strong>Education and Experience:<\/strong><br>\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Civil Engineering required; Masters degree preferred.<br>\u2022 Licensure as professional engineer (PE) required.<br><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The applicant will design, plan, and supervise the construction of infrastructure projects such as buildings, bridges, roads, dams, pipelines, water, and sewage systems.
