He\/She will undertake a variety of tasks such as entering payroll information, calculating wages and making payments.<br>The candidate should have a great understanding of the concept of confidentiality, experienced in entering data with attention to detail and must have good maths skills to make the necessary calculations. He\/She will be a thorough professional with good communication abilities.<br>The goal is to carry out all payroll procedures with speed and accuracy.<br><br><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><br>\u2022 Manage compensation packages using payroll software<br>\u2022 Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees<br>\u2022 Calculate pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime<br>\u2022 Calculate bonuses and commissions when appropriate<br>\u2022 Manage and calculate taxes and deductions<br>\u2022 Initiate periodical payments timely either by preparing and administering checks or making direct deposits through a bank payment system<br>\u2022 Issues statements and invoices and maintain records<br>\u2022 Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.<br>\u2022 Calculate unemployment and severance payments<br>\u2022 Deal with complaints and questions regarding payroll from employees and upper management<br>\u2022 Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll<br>\u2022 Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to supervisor<br><strong><br>Requirements and skills<\/strong><br>\u2022 Proven experience as a payroll clerk (3 years experience)<br>\u2022 Familiarity with general accounting principles<br>\u2022 Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality<br>\u2022 Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and regulations<br>\u2022 Computer savvy with working knowledge of relevant software <br>\u2022 Exquisite math and numerical skills<br>\u2022 Outstanding organizational and time management skills<br>\u2022 Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving<br>\u2022 High school diploma or equivalent; BSc\/BA in accounting\/business administration is a plus<br><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job DescriptionThe candidate must be a qualified Payroll Clerk who will assist in all activities regarding the management of employee compensation in the company.
