Role Purpose
The Senior Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily production operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The role involves close coordination with supply chain functions to guarantee timely raw material availability and product delivery, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day production activities to achieve set targets.
- Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Optimize utilization of materials, manpower, and equipment to minimize costs and waste.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team on preventive maintenance scheduling.
- Train, mentor, and supervise production staff, enhancing technical and leadership capacity.
- Implement and monitor quality control systems to maintain product standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to align on raw materials, inventory, and deliveries.
- Prepare, analyze, and present regular production reports and performance metrics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Production Engineering (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain operations, and production planning.
- Hands-on experience with process improvement frameworks (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
