Social Worker – Orphanage (NGO)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to provide emotional support, guidance, and advocacy for children in an orphanage in Misungwi. The role involves assessing children’s needs, developing care plans, and ensuring their overall well-being and development.

Key Responsibilities:
– Assess the emotional, social, and psychological needs of children.
– Provide counseling and emotional support to children facing trauma or loss.
– Develop and implement individualized care plans.
– Monitor and track children’s progress and development.
– Collaborate with caregivers, educators, and health professionals.
– Organize group activities, life skills training, and educational programs.
– Advocate for children’s rights and ensure compliance with child protection policies.
– Maintain accurate and confidential records of interactions and progress.
– Engage with families or external agencies when necessary.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
– Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in child welfare, orphanages, or NGOs.
– Strong understanding of child protection, social services, and mental health support.
– Excellent communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills.
– Empathy, patience, and passion for child welfare.

Desirable Skills:
– Knowledge of trauma-informed care.
– Experience with case management software.
